Žlutý kopec Water Tanks

Within weeks of opening, this astonishing technical monument, resembling underground cathedrals, has become one of Brno’s must-see attractions.

  • Two brick tanks and one concrete tank built in the years 1874, 1894, and 1917
  • Very few similar sights like this exist elsewhere in Europe – these water tanks have an atmosphere like Istanbul’s Basilica Cistern
  • The first of three unique water tanks was opened to visitors in 2020, now the entire area, including a revitalised park, is open to the public for spring 2024
  • You can look around individually, as part of a guided tour, or during one of the events that TIC BRNO organises here with its partners
  • These tanks are yet another addition to a diverse and fascinating list of Brno underground and industrial monuments
